Rules & Regulations

It’s real simple, but it’s necessary. We want to see new world records, but it is our priority to make sure everyone stays safe on a level playing field. So here’s the basic rules…

YAMAHA

PRO STOCK CLASS

Must start with OEM personal watercraft. No turbo (unless OEM equipped) or nitrous.  Stock jet pump except for water fittings. Stock nozzles, but nozzle may be modified or interchanged between models, and years.  Aftermarket prop is allowed. Aftermarket sponsons and steering allowed. Drive shaft must remain stock.  May be backdated between models (ex: FZR TO FZR OR FX TO FX)
 
Hulls and top deck: No splitting hulls, no lightening. No mods to top deck what so ever. Any existing holes must be replaced with OEM uncut panel(s).
You May Have Center Wall Removed if Equipped and NO exterior bumpers needed. Hull Must be Sealed to top with Rivets,Bolts,Glue, Etc

FZR/FZS: can only mod in front of intake grate. If modification cuts through, repair can only be done externally-NO glass work from inside of hull.

GP/VXR: can mod in front of intake grate. If modification cuts through, repair can be done internally and externally.

FX: can mod in front of intake grate. If modification cuts through, repair can be done internally and externally.

ECU: aftermarket allowed (Ex: reflash or stand alone)
 
Intake Grate and ride plate: 

FZR/FZR/GP/VXR: modifications or aftermarket allowed.

FX: modifications or aftermarket allowed. Intake grate must use OEM mounting bolt location/bolt pattern.
 
Seat: must be OEM. Can be modified but no open holes allowed. If the PWC came with 2 seats then both seats must be run.
 
Crankshaft: must be OEM but can be modified
 
Pistons and rods: can be aftermarket (Ex: any compression or forged)
 
Valves: can be aftermarket but must be OEM specs-NO oversized.  
 
Valve springs and retainers: can be aftermarket 
 
Heads: must remain stock-NO porting.
 
Throttle body: must remain OEM, but can be changed between WaveRunner models (ex: fzr can run vxr)
 
Intake manifold: must remain OEM, but can be changed between WaveRunner models (ex: fzr can run vxr). Vacuum fittings, upgraded throttle body spacer and ribbon delete are allowed
 
Exhaust: manifold must remain stock except for O2 sensor mods. Must retain  waterbox, but aftermarket allowed with thru hull pipe. No straight pipe allowed.
 
Supercharger: supercharger impeller has to be OEM and unmodified. Front and rear housings can be OEM or aftermarket. If using an aftermarket housing, it must be OEM specifications with no modifications. Gearing and housings must remain OEM and unmodified- NO regearing of gear ratio.  Yamahas cannot use older center gear to change OEM gear ratio. Aftermarket shafts and rebuild kits can be used.
 
Air intake: aftermarket allowed. May connect to 1 side of air vent connector only
 
Injectors: stock injectors must be used and cannot be modified.
 
Intercooler: can be aftermarket
 
Fuel pumps:  Single aftermarket electric in-tank fuel pump is allowed. NO external or mechanical fuel pumps allowed. Fuel pressure regulator and upgraded fuel lines allowed. Gas tank must be OEM.
 
Cams and cam gears: must remain OEM, but can be changed between WaveRunner models (ex: fzr can run vxr).

SEA-DOO

PRO STOCK CLASS

Must start with OEM personal water craft. No turbo (unless OEM equipped) or nitrous. Stock pump except for water fittings. Stock nozzles, but nozzle may be modified or interchanged between models, and years.  Aftermarket prop is allowed. Aftermarket sponsons and steering allowed. Drive shaft must remain stock.  May be backdated between models (ex: RXP TO RXP OR RXT TO RXT)
 
ECU: aftermarket allowed (Ex: reflash or stand alone)
 
Hulls and top deck: No splitting hulls, no lightening. No Holes to top Deck. Any existing holes must be replaced with OEM uncut panel(s).

 
Intake Grate and ride plate: modifications or aftermarket allowed
 
Seat: must be OEM. Can be modified but no open holes allowed. If the PWC came with 2 seats then both OEM seats must be run.
 
Crankshaft: must be OEM but can be modified
 
Pistons and rods: can be aftermarket (Ex: any compression or forged)

Cable-driven throttle body can be bored out to 60mm to match late model Seadoos)

Exhaust: manifold must remain stock except for O2 sensor mods. Must retain  water box, but aftermarket allowed with thru hull pipe. No straight pipe allowed.
 
Supercharger: aftermarket allowed, but must keep oem style gear driven off flywheel in pto. Water cooled allowed
 
Air intake: aftermarket allowed.
 
Injectors: aftermarket allowed
 
Intercooler: can be aftermarket

Must start with OEM personal water craft. No turbo (unless OEM equipped) or nitrous.  Aftermarket pump and nozzles allowed. Aftermarket prop is allowed.  Aftermarket sponsons and steering allowed. Drive shaft must remain stock.  May be backdated between models (ex: FZR TO FZR OR FX TO FX)
 
Hulls and top deck: Can mod in front of intake grate. If modification cuts through, repair can be done internally and externally. Hulls can be split but not be lightened. No top deck mods what so ever. Plastics can be drilled for extra air
. You May Have Center Wall Removed if equipped and NO exterior bumpers needed. Hull Must be Sealed to together with Rivets,Bolts,Glue, Etc

Air intake: aftermarket allowed. Can draw air from outside but must remain flush with top deck (no scoops allowed).
 
Injectors: can be aftermarket
 
Intercooler: can be aftermarket
 
Fuel pumps:  Aftermarket mechanical or electric fuel pumps are allowed. Must be inside the fuel tank. Fuel pressure regulator and upgraded fuel lines allowed. NO external fuel pumps allowed. Gas tank must by oem
 
Cams and cam gears: can be aftermarket

SEA-DOO

SPEC CLASS

Must start with OEM personal water craft. No turbo (unless oem equipped) or nitrous.
Aftermarket pump and nozzles allowed.  Aftermarket prop is allowed. Aftermarket sponsons and steering allowed.  Drive shaft must remain stock.  May be backdated between models (ex: RXP TO RXP OR RXT RO RXT)
 
ECU: aftermarket allowed
 
Hulls and top deck: hull and top deck must be oem, but lightening of hull and top deck allowed. Plastics and top deck can be drilled for extra air.
 
Intake Grate and ride plate: modifications or aftermarket allowed
 
Seat: must be OEM, modifications allowed.
 
Crankshaft: must be OEM but can be modified
 
Pistons and rods: can be aftermarket
 
Valves: can be aftermarket  
 
Valve springs and retainers: can be aftermarket 
 
Heads: can be aftermarket. Porting allowed
 
Throttle body: must remain OEM[
Cable-driven throttle body can be bored out to 60mm to match late model Seadoos

SUPER STOCK CLASS

Must start with OEM personal water craft. No turbo (unless oem equipped) or nitrous. Aftermarket pump and nozzles allowed.  Aftermarket prop is allowed. Aftermarket sponsons and steering allowed.  Drive shaft may be aftermarket.   
 
ECU: aftermarket allowed
 
Hulls and top deck: Can be carbon fiber or lightened. Hull swaps allowed from any manufacturer (Ex: Seadoo engine into a Yamaha)

 
Intake Grate and ride plate: modifications or aftermarket allowed
 
Seat: aftermarket allowed
 
Crankshaft: Aftermarket allowed
 
Pistons and rods: can be aftermarket
 
Valves: can be aftermarket  
 
Valve springs and retainers: can be aftermarket 
 
Heads: can be aftermarket. Porting allowed
 
Throttle body: aftermarket allowed
 
Intake manifold:  Aftermarket allowed
 
Exhaust: aftermarket allowed. Straight pipes allowed
 
Supercharger: aftermarket allowed
 
Air intake: aftermarket allowed. Can be outside hull

UNLIMITED CLASS

Must be PWC. Basically run what you brung class. No surface props.
